    how to look up matching records

    i have cell N1 witch is a number example "8832"
    cell O1 is text example "state street"
    now i have A1 thur A10 as an address "number"
    now E1 thur E10 is street address "text"
    i need to take n1 match it to A1-A10
    then take that row number and see if E1 of that row numbers matches
    O1 if it does that that row numer and get g of that number if not keep checking to i find a match
    any help would be nice thanks alan myers

    What is to be returned if a match is found?

    This doesn't make sense:

    and get g of that number
    Where there is a will there are many ways.

    want to find the zip code of the address in n1 and o1

    6767 is in column n and ardwell is in column o

    Try:

    =Lookup(2,1/((A1:A100=N1)*(E1:E100=O1)),G1:G100)

    adjust ranges to suit and add $ signs to make ranges absolute if copying formula down...

    Please don't forget to mark your thread as Solved.

    How to mark a thread Solved
    Go to the first post
    Click edit
    Click Go Advanced
    Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
    Change to Solved
    Click Save
