Unhappy Update Path in link when copy Excel book

    Hi all,

for use with Solid Edge (3D CAD) I have set up the following:

1 linked variable from Solid Edge to Excel to drive a matrix.
Several linked excel cell to Solid Edge to drive dimensions.

This all works, but I need these files to be 'library files' they will be set read only. To use them, the user will have to copy all files to a new directory.

The linked variable from Solid Edge to Excel gives a problem here, it's a static link and keeps referencing to the original library file.

If only there was a way to let Excel link to a file in it's own directory, that would be enough. But a way to easily let Excel change the path in the link to the path the excel file is in is okay too.

    Any ideas?

How have you done the links?

If you link to a file in the same folder my Excel seems to use a relative link anyway...

In Solid Edge I can use a 'Copy Link' functionality, then I 'Paste special..' it into Excel, checking the 'link' box...

Could this be a Solid Edge problem then?
