    Question Outlook security prompt

    Hello VBA experts!

I am currently trying to write a macro that simply gets the username of the whoerver is logged into Outlook.

So far all has gone well except that outlook promts the user. Once you click "
"yes" the macro continues as it should.

My questions is, is there a way around the prompt so that the macro just runs right through?

I've searched through many forums like this one and the only thing i can find are extranal programs (which need to be installed on every computer that uses the macro, this is virtually an impossibility for me).

Here is what the code looks like:

    Re: Outlook security prompt

I think whatever you implement would require installation work on clients (Outlook Redemption, ClickYes etc...) ... though possibly you could do it with CDO ? I will have a look around... if no-one else beats me to it of course.

Presumably the NT username is not sufficient ?

This pulls the network username of the current user and is pretty robust (unless people know each others logon passwords)

    Re: Outlook security prompt

    Hi DonkeyOte,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    The only problem with:

is that if someone is using our Webbased mail system (outlook.companyname.com)

However, the temporary solution we have that promts the Outlook security message does not work while using the webmail so I can't see any reason as to why this is not a down right perfect solution!

    Thank you DonkeyOte

Ps. im not too familiar with CDO!
