    Compare Two Sheets

Alright so in my workbook, I have 7 sheets (Sheets 1-7). I am running a Macro which gathers information and and does computations from these 7 sheets and outputs the information into an 8th sheet called Lifecycle Report.

So now, what I am trying to do is this: In the new sheet that is being created (Lifecycle Report), I want to compare the contents of a column with a column from an existing sheet, and if the data is the same, I want it to say so in another column in the new Lifecycle Report sheet. So how can I make it so that excel checks if the data in the column of one sheet is the same as the data from another sheet? I am NOT trying to compare cell by cell. I want data in the first sheet to be checked with every single cell in the column of the other sheet, not just its corresponding cell. I hope this is clear. I hope someone can help, let me know if there is any confusion.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Compare Two Sheets

ok lets look at an example to clarify: in sheet 1, i have a column called Hardware. after running the macro, the new sheet that is created, "lifecycle report" has a column called Application Type. If any of the content in the Application Type column is the same as the content in the Hardware column in sheet 1, then I want another column in the "lifecycle report" sheet to say "Hardware" next to the corresponding cell in the Application Type column. Does that help? Let me know. Please help! Thanks in advance!
