VBA help needed

I'm decently familiar with vba and macros, etc, but I'm stumbling on this one and endless googling isn't helping.

I want to have Excel open automatically, say at 2am every night (which I probably will do with Microsoft Scheduler unless someone knows of a better way), then open a specific file and refresh the query in that file via a macro, and then save and close the file (and even Excel if possible).

A related concern, though, is that Excel will always open this file when Excel is opened, even during the day during normal use, which I'd rather avoid...

Any ideas?
