    Finding the Standard Deviation in a Simple Frequency Data Table

    I have attached a sample file with some explanation of what I am trying to do. Any help you guys could give me would be great. I think it is something simple that I am just not trying, however, it is 2:13 AM and I am tired ! Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

    extend the table to give you xf and x2f, then calculate sum of squares, and then SD.

    Thank you very much that does help. I was hoping that I could do it without creating any more columns but I do not think that is possible with this software. I really appreciate it.

    You can, but it does get complicated:

    =SQRT((SUMPRODUCT(B3:B11,B3:B11,C3:C11)-((SUMPRODUCT(B3:B11,C3:C11)^2)/(SUM(C3:C11))))/(SUM(C3:C11)-1))
