I am opening a spreadsheet and determining, based on a date, whether a reminder email needs to be sent.

Before sending the email, I need to review another workbook that is hyperlinked from the main file. I need to be able to scroll around in the hyperlinked file to determine if I want to send the reminder. However, with the msgbox (msgbox vb function) up, I cannot do anything except approve or disapprove the action.

Then I need to return to the original sheet and, preferrably, close the hyperlinked file when I approve/disapprove the action.

I have everything working except being able to scroll around in the 2nd workbook. However, I have not tried to close the 2nd workbook on the way out yet but am hoping that won't be quite as much of an adventure.

Hopefully this makes at least a little sense and any/all suggestions appreciated.
