    Constant Calculations

My Excel 2003 suddenly recalculates for any operation I perform in any sheet, even if there are no formulas in it. For e.g. it recalculates after inserting a column or copying and pasting only values, even if no formulas are in the workbook as a whole.

Can somebody please advise on a solution.

    Thank you

    Re: Constant Calculations

    Turn off automatic calculations:

    1. Click onthe office button in the top left corner.
    2. select "Excel Options" at the bottom.
    3. Select "Formulas" from the left hand side.
    4. Under the Heading "Calculation Options" select maual.

now you'll just need to hit F9 to recalculate

apologies, that explanation was for 2007, i can remeber how it's done in 2003 but if you use the help you should be able to find where the calculation options are.
