Autoupdate?

Hey all,
I'm back with another question concerning some spreadsheets I'm using to track baseball statistics from a boardgame. I am keeping each team's stats in a separate workbook. I have another workbook that uses each teams win/loss to track standings. Is there a way that the standings workbook can automatically update. It seems I have to go into the cell responsible for wins and then go through the prompt of updating files in the stadings workbook. This seems tedious and makes me think there is a way to have it auto update, but I am not familiar with it.
