    Disable AutoFilter Sort?

I want to disable the autofilter sort options programatically. Any ideas on how I should go about doing this programatically?

The only idea I have is to trap the change with a selection event. But it would have to trap the event before it happened. Besides is there an application event for an autofilter?

Why do you want to disable it? To prevent people using it in your sheet? How about disabling the menu option?

I want to disable the whole filter as I need to query the data for certain parameters. I just want to disable the 'sort ascending' and 'sort descending' option as this is causing all sorts of problems.

This may make sense to you, but I can't understand what you are talking about. If 'sort ascending' is causing you problems, then don't click on it. Have I missed something?

    Re: Disable AutoFilter Sort?

Its when others have used the spreadsheet that the problems occured, despite giving them clear instructions not to use that feature. I'm trying to lock down as many things as possible. The 'sort ascending' and 'sort descending' actions have been particularly problematic, thats why i'd rather remove them.

    Any suggestions appriciated.

    ... any ideas?
