You can turn ANYTHING into a macro. Simple stuff you can do yourself simply by turning on the macro recorder and let it watch what you do.
Tools > Macro > Record A Macro
[do a bunch of stuff]
Click the STOP button in the floating toolbar that appeared. Then edit the macro to see what it recorded. The code created this way is very primitive, but it works, and editing the code from there is doable, if nothing else it gives you a way to see how things you've done manually translate into basic code.
As for the other stuff you started to mention, that of course makes no sense to those of us not looking at your sheet. Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip to attach a workbook if you want us to make suggestions regarding specifics on your actual workbook.
