Assuming the range is A1:D10 on sheet 1

    Thanks

I have a name defined for the range. How will can use that name in the formula because I do not know how many rows in the range is filled with values.

Only certain no of rows in the range will have values ..

Sorry, just noticed this is the Programming forum and you probably wanted the answer to use VBA

Assuming you have selected a cell

Re: SUM function to be used for a range of cells

The formula provided works well if its a know range. what about the situation where the formula :Sum (Here in this example) changes . I want the code to fill down the sum formula till the last cell in the column in which the formula is first placed.

    For example,

My Sheet has a sum formula in column D summing all the three columns A, B, C. I want to know how to fill the formula using dynamic ranges i.e. what if the range changes.
Can anybody know the code for changing ranges so that the formula can be applied till the last row in the column.

Re: SUM function to be used for a range of cells

You should have started a new thread with your question since the thread was already marked as Solved and your question does not pertain directly to the summing of a Range.

    That being said:
The following sums columns A2 B2 and C2 in cell D2 and then copies the formula down in Column D to the first blank cell in column C
