Copy Pivot table from one workbook into another workbook

I am trying to copy a pivot table into another workbook but I loose all the features I had in my original workbook when I do copy and paste method. Is there a way to copy the pivot table from one workbook into another workbook without loosing all the pivot features like moving around the attributes either to the row or to the page field etc? Thanks.

Right Click on Pivot..

Select "Select"

Then Select "Entire Table"

Now press Ctrl + C..

Click on File --> New and press ctrl + v

Thanks Kumar for your quick response. I tried the method you mentioned but it did not work. I was able to copy it but with out the features like the drop down box is not there or even if i right click i cannot change the layout etc. Pls. help. thanks.

Hi,

Make sure that you open the new excel file from the FILE menu in the same file which contain ur pivot..

if u open it by going to start --> MS Excel.. it wont work

Thank you so much, now everything is working fine. I want ask you one more thing since you seam that you have great experience with pivot. Can you please take a look this thread that i posted couple of weeks ago and i did not get any help. Here is the link:
