I have this spreadsheet , i'm using a data validation list that allows you to choose a product code. but with this you can only scroll down. How do i alter it so that i could type the first few characters and it will take you too that code i.e 126p....
By hiding that validation list in the same column you're typing in. If the list if 50 items long, add 50 rows to the sheet directly above the first cell you're going to type in and put your validation list THERE. Then hide those 50 rows.
Now make sure AUTOCOMPLETE is active (Tools > Options > Edit > [x] Enable Autocomplete)

the problem is with that is that the list will be ever increasing so that would be unworkable , thought of that first.......
is there another way to do it it other that data validation list ?
