returning results via filter to next sheet

    hi gentlemen

im really stuck on how to return data to a second sheet if data selected via a filter.
i have attached spreadsheet i am working on and looking to make this as easy as possible

on sheet "data" cell f2 im looking to return all goals scored by hull
on sheet "data" cell f3 im looking to return all goals conceded by hull

on sheet "data" cell f5 im looking to return all goals scored by hull at home this i will need to do by selecting hull in "home team" filter hull

on sheet "data" cell f6 im looking to return all goals conceded by hull at home this i will need to do by selecting hull in "home team" filter hull

on sheet "data" cell f8 im looking to return hulls last 6 games as over and under which in this example will return the last 6 rows 27-32 and will read 4 under 2 over

on sheet "data" cell f9 im looking to return hulls last 6 games at home as over and under which in this example will return the last 6 rows 22/23/26/27/29/32 and will read 3 under 3 over

if anyone could help i would be really grateful

your data in column C is dates, not scores. If you really want to manipulate this data easily, you need a better layout. That's tough since I can see you've already come so far manipulating scores as dates, but this is just more effort than required. If the scores for each team were recorded separately, you could run standard sum and sumproduct and sumif formulas against it easily.

Here, I've shown how to sort out the scores so they're actual numbers that can be summed. You can convert those columns of formulas to real numbers with a Copy>PasteSpecial if you'd like. Laid out the first 4 formulas for you, as well, also, see how much easier the OVER/UNDER formula is when dealing with actual numbers?

That's because I just made that list manually. You have Excel 2007, so you should be able to copy the two sets of team names into column S with no duplicates, yes?

Re: returning results via filter to next sheet

    hi jb
that looks like something i probably can work out
the thing im having trouble with is working out how to return

on sheet "data" cell f8 im looking to return hulls last 6 games as over and under which in this example will return the last 6 rows 27-32 and will read 4 under 2 over

on sheet "data" cell f9 im looking to return hulls last 6 games at home as over and under which in this example will return the last 6 rows 22/23/26/27/29/32 and will read 3 under 3 over

so if i select hull in column b of the home team there will be 15 rows

thanks for your excellent work so far very much appreciated

Look at Y2 and Z2. These do it, but it's an unbelievably long way to go for it. Your layout is not that conducive to this kind of data analysis, or more likely I'm just not up for it. Take a look anyway, no chance you'll decipher all that, I imagine, I hardly know how I got there.
