single sheet SaveAs without changing WorkBook FileFormat

I wish to save a single sheet from a multi-sheet workbook as "xlTextPrinter"
    to do this I use:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
This works fine, but it sets the name of the entire workbook to fName and also sets the FileFormat for entire workbook to xlTextPrinter.
At the moment I am recording the workbooks settings prior to saving the sheet, then re-saving the workbook with its original settings.
This works, but it's rather a cludge, and could cause problems if I have applied some temporary changes to the workbook that I may not want to save.
Is there any way to save a single sheet without changing the workbook settings?

    Mark.

    PS
    I am using Excel 2003

    Unhappy Bump

    Hi Anyone...
Is what I want to do possible?
If not I'll try a different route.
I must admit I'm a bit disappointed that I got zero response, even if it was to say that what I was attempting would not work.

As it happens using Write# might give a better final result,
but will require rather more programming effort, that I was trying to avoid.

You can make text files in other ways but using your method:

    Thank You

    Thank You Kenneth,

A nice bit of latteral thinking to make a copy and then save from that, although I might have to think carefully about naming the temporary file to avoid any possible conflicts.

I still think that it is a bit odd that saving a single sheet changes the entire workbook "type".
I frequently want to save a single sheet in an ascii format for loading into other applications and find this feature similarly irritating when I use SaveAs "by hand".

    Mark.
