Long Running Macro Page Flickering

I have a macro that does calculations that take a long time to run. The macro accesses and switches between many worksheets while running. Is there a way to prevent Excel for repainting and switching worksheets every time a new one is accessed? I would like to have a main worksheet that stays up front so that I can show status information about the running Macro.

hi Bob,

It is generally un-necessary to "select" or to "activate" before performing an action in code. If you are able to post your code (or an example file) someone may be able to suggest ways of optimising it for you.
