Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)

I am converting from the PC to Mac and when I opened an Excel document on the Mac (created from my PC), it stated that Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac does not have Visual Basic Macros and the document contains them. Well, I never created macros so I don't know how they ended up there. I looked to see what the macro is and I think I found it. It says:

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)

    End Sub

I have no idea what this means? I know nothing at all about VBM. Can I delete the macro? If so, how? What does the macro mean? What does it do?

I really need help on this. Thanks so much!
