Unhappy trying to create a scheduling function

    Excel version 2007
Help Please!!! I know there has to be a way...
    as simply as possibe...
Department x has three separate work units A, B, C
Each work unit has 40 to 75 employees, about 100 employees work each day.

Each daily position is, for simplicity sake, assigned a number. as in the numbers 1 thru 200 (i.e. position 85 is Mon-Fri 9-6 production assist.)

Here is the problem I have input the data (aka the three schedules in three separate sheets within one workbook) column one is names, columns b thru o are the days of the week mon thru sunday, (two weeks) Now, I would like to create a separate document that creates what we call a single daily roster that includes ALL people scheduled to work that day in A,B & C work units....

say for example B4 on the roster equals position 23
and position 23 is filled on the work Unit A schedule by Mary. can I get B4 to =Mary monday thru Friday? And automatically update if a change is made and Tom works for Mary on Thursday??

I can't find Scheduling software that works, this is my last hope!!
