I created a macro in a workbook (it only has one sheet). I exported and replaced (updated) the data from Access into this workbook except now I can't locate my macro. How can I prevent this from happening?
Thanks U!![]()

Did you record the macro?
Hope that helps.

Yes, I did record my macro. That is the only way I know how to do macro.
Thank you.
ExcelNewby,
Did you record the macro in your "Personal.xls" file?
With your workbook open, press ALT F11
On the left side of the screen look for "VBAProject(Personal.xls)", and click on the modules to search for your macro.

No, I recorded and saved in "This workbook". If I saved it the personal, can I share the macro with other users? If I can't then that would not be an option for me since this is a shared workbook.
Thank you.
ExcelNewby,
I just tried to give you another location to look in to find your macro.
Have you looked in any of the othere Modules in your workbook?
Did you have any other workbooks open at the time. If so, check for the new macro in one of their Modules.
No. Because the workbook is shared, the macro should be in the workbook. If I can't then that would not be an option for me since this is a shared workbook.
Have a great day,
Stan

You cannot record a macro in a shared workbook.
royUK,
We can always learn something new. Thanks.
ExcelNewby,
See Excel Help, search for "shared workbook", and click on "Features that are unavailable in shared workbooks".
Also, see:

Record New Macro
If you record a new macro in a shared workbook, the macro is recorded in a new workbook. In the Record New Macro dialog box, the New Workbook option under Store In is selected by default. The This Workbook option under Store In is unavailable in a shared workbook.
Have a great day,
Stan
