finding soonest date depending upon value in another column

Hey everyone...just wanted to start off by saying that this is a very informative forum and everyone seems to want to help people...that being said, i hope someone is able to help me fix/figure out my problem...

in my workbook i have multiple sheets, each sheet being a seperate order...ill start off by describing what i have on an example worksheet...

col1: section/co
col2: task description
col3: distro date
col4: due date
col5: notes
col6: task status

in each row is a seperate task to be completed...an example would be:

engineers sec; make program run by tomorrow; 4/11/08; 4/12/08; hurry up; r

there will be multiple tasks per order and it is to be sorted by section/co column...the task status column requires either an r, a or g...what i need to do is to find the soonest due date of a task that is not marked as g in the task status column...i realize that it would be easy if i sorted by the task status column, but i cant do that...any help is extremely appreciated!!!

Or should I say "Konnichi wa, jodan-san".? It would help if you post an example of your workbook data or the workbook itself. If your data and workbook don't have to be recreated, you will receive an answer sooner.
