    checking contents of upper cell

    Hi all,

I have a problem with my coding. I have a cell, let's say it's A4, which has contents in it (in my case, a simple dot <.>). When I add rows above A4, the dot gets pushed down, and the new A4 row contains nothing.

    I want to say:

check if the dot (which was previously row in row 4) is equal to the cell, 2 rows above it. This is what I have so far.

Do you want A4 to always contain the dot? What has F12 to do with the task?

You don't need brackets with a VBA IF statement
    Hope that helps.
