How to list all macros in >100 worksheets?

Yesterday I had several worksheets open and I wrote a macro.

I saved it in the wrong one and can't remember where I put it.

How do I run a search that will tell me which macros are in which worksheets.

Even better could I retrieve the code for all macros I've ever written (in a group of worksheets) so I can save it in a text file and not lose it again

Thank you in advance, any help is appreciated

That would be a mammoth task, quicker to re-write the macro I would think.

Take a look at your recent files list, or use windows search for documents opened in the last week.
    Hope that helps.

    Thankyou for the quick reply.

For this one I will just re-write it. ( I do have other lost macros though)

But could you not just write a macro that will systematically open an excel document, search for modules, record their contents, close the workbook, then open the next one?

I wouldn't know how to do this though

Yes, but with over 100 workbooks it would be time consuming
