Hiding Formula Bar and Column Headings in Excel 2007

This is a great tool! I noticed that this is file specific and I was wondering if there was any way to get your changes and additions to the ribbon to be there every time you open Excel?

Add them to the Personal.xlsm file.

I've tried that. I added the code to my Personal.xls and it didn't work. Is my Personal file supposed to be an xlsm? Is that why it didn't work?

If you want to amend the ribbon, it needs to be an xlsx or an xlsm, and has to be xlsm if you want macros. Didi you attach the XLM to the workbook correctly, and stor the workbook in the startup directory?

All I did was open the Personal.xls in the Custom Editor and added some code that works on a per file basis (from the link above) and it didn't take. So let me get this straight. I need to open the Personal.xls and change it to Personal.xlsm in my startup folder and then I should be able to change the code to add a ribbon? I hope? If so, how do I open the Personal.xls so that I can re-save it?

Okay, I created an xlsm file and saved it in my xlstart folder. I then closed Excel and opened the file in the Custom Editor. I put the code from the link above in and saved the file. I then opened an Excel file and my file opened up in the background. I went to the 'view' tab of the file I opened and the code didn't work. I went to the 'view' tab of the xlsm file I created and the code worked on that workbook only. Is there a way to make the code universal? I'd hate to have to put this code on every workbook I open, that's just not practical. Any ideas?
