    Angry Percentage Complete?

I am doing a time-plan/time-management excel document as part of my a/s ICT course...

I have a column "State" which is a solid colour (traffic colours , red, or orange or green) I have a "% Complete" column a main task and sub-task the subtasks font color matches traffic light colours (you will see in the key).

Say i have main task abc , next to that i have subtasks aaa, bbb, & ccc

2 are green (for complete and one is red for incomplete) I want this to disply 66.6% complete. I want to have % complete based on the font colour of the subtasks.

I also want the state colour to change to green when all the subtasks are green.

I have uploaded it to make ^^^^ sound easier .....i am using excell 2007, in compatibility mode because school has 2003

    Welcome to the forum.

Why would you want compute based on color rather than underlying data?

What's the difference between "incomplete" and "in progress"?

In G12, the formula =SUMPRODUCT(--(R12:R14<=TODAY())) / ROWS(R12:R14) will tell you the fraction of subtasks completed.

Exclamation I've changed layout/ new problem

The previous formula did not work out how i wanted it so i've changed a few things

I am doing a time plan as part of my a/s ICT course and i have status checkboxes to show the completion of a task i would like to have a % complete column to show how complete each tasks is.

From that result i would like to change the state box to green if 100%, to Orange if between 0-100% and , red if 0%

Checkboxes are linked to cells at bottom of sheet

I would like a "!" symbol to appear on th left of the state column if the current date is past the expected date to finish which is not complete

I am using excel 2007 in compatibility mode as my school has 2003
