Instruction to copy rows from one file to another.

Is it possible to press a button in "abc.xls" and have excel ask me which .xls to look in and which rows from that sheet that should be copied and pasted at the bottom of "abc.xls"

Rows to copy would be copied entirely and identified by physical review not by excel looking for a specific value in the row.

    Any guidance is appreciated.

    rylo,

This looks like a great start, I have assigned this to a buton and get prompted to select a file, then which sheet within that file, then I get prompted "what are the rows?" default is 2:4, when i click ok to selct these rows the file closes and reverts to the sheet the Macro is in but with nothing to paste.

I am a complete novice so I'm now stuck again. Any guidance is really appreciated.

    Hi

Try this. I opened a file that data in rows 2-4 and it copied OK.

I've applied the code to my sheet but nothing pastes. I've attached the files, what i would like to acheive is copying specific rows from the back load manifest sheet into the tracker sheet. IE rows 14 and 18. It needs to be selective as not all items would be copied on all occasions. It really seems like I have what I'm looking for, your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi

    A couple of changes.

When the input box comes up asking for the rows, you can either type them in using the correct format, or use the mouse to actively select the required rows from the source data sheet.

Absolutly perfect, works like a charm, this will make day to day operations much more efficent and ensure much better tracking of equipment/materials etc. Your assistance has been greatfully received, I have learned a lot in a short space of time and will no doubt be using this site again for ironing out any little bumps I come across.

    Many thanks again.
