How to insert formatted row using Macro?

    Hi,

I have a XL, which i have formatted to hold a file dump.
Now File can have as many records, i mean the number of records is not fixed.
So i have just made a template of 10 rows.
What i want is when i am importing data from file, when 11th row is encountered, a row in excel should be inserted and format of the row should be similar to 10th row & then the records should be written.
    Similarly for 11th,12th.....records.
Secondly, i want to use excel as database and query it just like we do for any other database.
I need pointers where i can find macros using queries to fetch the values so that i can get a better understanding of queries.
Lastly, can i lock a cell depending on the values entered in another cell without using macros(VBA).

    Regards,
    Tushar

    Hello Tushar,

Where is the data file located and what type of file is it?

    Sincerely,

    Sorry Leith for insufficeint information.

The data file will be a .txt file, and file can be located anywhere in user's system.

    regards,
    Tushar
