Inserting sub-total after change in values in three columns

In the spreadsheet, I sort by column A, then B, then C. I then insert a blank row after each change in value in those columns. I would like to add subtotals to each section. This is what I have tried. I get a "Method 'Range' of object '_Global' failed."

    Please help.

    Hi,

That would seem to be overcomplicating things when there is perfectly acceptable standard excel functionality, i.e. Data Subtotal, to achieve this.

Have you tried this? And if so does it not give you what you want.

    Regards

    SubTotals of section

The subtotalling feature does not work because there are some other worksheet macros that are at work on formatting specific rows. Unfortunately the Subtotal feature repeats the formatting of the above row and I can't seem to clear it.

That's why I am using code.

    Hi,

I'd be surprised if any conflicts between macros could not be overcome in order to allow you to use standard functionality. Why don't you attach the workbook so that we can see your problem in its context?

    SubTotals of section

As you can see, when I add the SubTotals... the Gantt cells format are replicated in the total rows.

I have created a macro for the subtotals

I need to bold the totals and delete the interior color of the rows and can't seem to make it work.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,

Is the attached of any use to you.

I've taken a different approach - see the additional sheet. I've used a Pivot Table to derive the various subtotals, and conditional formatting for the Gantt chart bars. Wasn't sure what the different colours represented so I assumed they reflected the 'Service' column.

    Insert SubTotals

This doesn't really work for me. The Colors represent the Discipline not the service and they mean how long that particular vendor is going to have that particular assignment.

Following the subtotal operation I just need remove the color from the cells in the SubTotal rows and bold the data.

How can I write the code so that those rows are selected, the interior cover removed and the cell contents bolded?

    Thanks.
