how to have a worksheet respond to an anomaly

    Hello,

1st: How do I effectively search this forum for any information I need instead of creating a new thread?

2nd: more importantly, I would like to have a worksheet annouce if an anomaly has been entered in a certain row of a file. for example: If I have a column of data that typically would be between 5-10 on each row and then an entry is put in for 50. Is there a program I can put into place that would prompt a comment or question "is your entry correct?" or something to that affect?

Thank you in advance all you Excel guru's!

    Hi slipit1,

You should have a look at Data Validation for Q2. You can restrict the values allowed in a range of cells ( a column in your case) to only allow values set by you.
    Hope this helps

    Roy,

Perfect just what I needed and no VB script, even better.

    thank you much.

Would you happen to know what the best way of searching the wealth of knowledge in these forums would be? I have tried to enter questions in the search box to no avail.
