I believe that if you're linking to a file, the file path needs to be exact. So, consequently, when the recipient saves them to their computer, the file paths will be different.

For instance, in the Sheet your hyperlink probably links like this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Picture.jpg

When they save it, the file path won't be the same, therefore the link is broken.

    Help?

Well, if they are ona corporate network, then you can do it by hosting the picture files on a shared drive. Then, the links would always remain constant, as long as they were on the shared drive.

Or, you host the pictures online with a site like ImageShack or Photobucket. Then you would provide the direct link to the image online, therefore removing local hosting/storage all together.

The latter is probably a more viable solution considering you're most likely not using shared drives, or I assume you wouldn't need to email them the workbook in the first place!

If you create an account at http://www.imageshack.us/. You can uplaod your pictures. Once you have uploaded each one, click the "Image Details" button. You will be directed to a page that provides several ways of sharing the picture.

In your Excel sheet, insert your hyperlink to include the URL of the picture.

    Here's how you do it:

Put the Excel File and all of the images in a folder together.

Redo the hyperlinks to just be the file name.

    Example: Change "C:\some folder\file.jpg" to just "file.jpg"

Tell the recipient to keep all the files in the same folder.
