    Error 1004 when listing references

I'm using the following code to detect if a referenced DLL is missing following an installation of the DLL.

This is used in a spreadsheet that is distributed to others and some (not many) are getting Error Number 1004.

I can't find anything in common with the computers that get this error. They are running at least Windows XP SP2 and at least Excel XP.

    Anyone got a clue?

    Hello ern2ern,

Because the VBProject property is part of the VBIDE, you should set a reference in each workbook to the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility object library to ensure proper operation on all platforms.

    Leith,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm distributing new test with the additional reference. Will let you know results!

    Leith,

The results are in. Nothing changed. Everyone who was getting Error 1004 is still getting it.

This has got to have something to do with something. (a favorite saying;-)

    Leith,

Just thought I'd ask...Surely you don't mean add that reference to workbooks that do not call the References object...? Only the one workbook has that macro.
