    Could really use some help...

    Hi,
Im not much with code but I was hoping someone could help me out with the best way to create this:

I am trying to create a worksheet that will allow me to enter in cable components in any order and calculate the total signal loss.

    List of components and loss:
    RG59 (cable) -5db (per 100ft)
    RG6 (Cable) -4db (per 100ft)
    RG7 (Cable) -3db (per 100ft)
    RG11 (Cable) -2db (per 100ft)
    2-Way -3.5db
    3-way -5.5db
    4-way -7db
    4 port Amp +8db

As you can see it deals with posative and negative numbers and in some cases will also need to calculate loss per foot when it comes to the cable.

I am working in Excel 07.

Ideally I would like to have a drop down menu that allows me to select a component and the loss would show at the cell below. Then I could go to the next column and do the same until I have a row of say 10-12 signal losses then at far right total up the loss.

with this tool a Cable Technician would be able to look at a new install or help troubleshoot and existing one.

    thx in advance,
    The Cable Guy
