Buttons Needed To Insert Symbols

I need a button on my sheet that will insert a predefined symbol into a cell when I click on it.

For Example:

I click on a cell and start typing: 2x .156 -and then I click the button with the ± symbol to insert it- and continue entering standard characters.

How do I go about doing this?

I think the easiest way would be to simply use the AutoCorrect feature. For the ± example, you could assign the keystrokes "+-" or "+/-", and Excel will automatically change it to the ± symbol. I have this set up on mine, and as another example, I use key strokes "xxx" and "///" for the × and ÷ symbols, respectively.

Thanks a lot, I think this will work just great - is it possible however to have this work on different computers - as my workbook will be on a network and may not always be used at one particular station? Can I somehow attach these autocorrect options to my workbook?
