Calculating a date based on code in cell

I have code in a cell that I wish to extract data from and convert it to a date.

The code will look like:
ESD94C001-001

I want the 94C part to be converted to 1 March 1994 in another cell. The letter is the month (A-L), and the years will either be 1900 or 2000 series, and I need to be able to correctly compute the correct century.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

(Edit - Poster knows not his months of the year! C=3=March, NOT April)
