Is there any way in Excel to apply conditional formating to a pivot table instead of applying it to absolute cells?

Simple question. Sorry if I'm posting it in the wrong place but I'm pretty sure this is not built-in to Excel, I am more curious as to whether or not anybody has written a VBA methd for doing something like this.
