hello I am an excel newbie and I desperately need help with this IT task my teacher assigned for me. I completely do not know anything about matrices in excel, so I believe this is the place where I should seek help. Attached is the assignment

NOTE:However, to get you started:
Depending on the type of school your're in, handing in someone else's work could be considered cheating or plagerism and could get you kicked out!![]()
Given the system of equations:
2x - 6y + 3z = -12
3x - 2y + 5z = -4
4x + 5y -2z = 10
The matrix equations are:
![]()
|2 -6 3 | |x| | -12| |3 -2 5 | |y| = |-4 | |4 5 -2 | |z| |10 |
suppose you type in cells A1 thru C3 the following:
This is your matrix A![]()
2 -6 3 3 -2 5 4 5 -2
then in cell G1, say, enter the formula "=MDETERM(A1:C3)" to calculate the determinant of the matrix.
Next, for the inverse, you will select a range of nine cells, say, L1 thru N3.
Then, with those nine cells selected, type in the equation bar "=MINVERSE(A1:C3)" ---> press Ctrl + Shift + Enter.
notice that XL puts braces {} around the formula and that nine values (the inverse matrix) will be entered into the selected cells, etc. as a start........
