    Didn't work

Thanks for the help, I tried it and for some reason I am still getting the "macros disabled" popup even though I have deleted all the macros. I guess I'll talk to the IT guy . . .

    Hello Robbert,

When you get this resolved, post back with what you found out. I would like to know, and I am sure others would too.

    Sincerely,

    The problem may be....

I think the problem may be that I am putting workbooks into the shared drive and each of the workbooks is loading my "personal" workbook along with it. I would like to stop that from happening but I'm not sure how. I went to the tools>options>general>"open on start up" and that field is blank. Not sure what else to do . . .

    Got it!

Ha! There was no code but I was still getting the pop up because there was a module, codeless as it was I guess it was being read as a macro.

I removed the module and now my little spreadsheet world has returned to perfect harmony . . .

Robbert, don't ever set macro security to Low. It's never necessary, and an invitation to disaster and all the heartache you can ever imagine. Plus some.

It sounds almost like you are speaking from some unfortunate experience! Is this the case?

    Good tip

Thanks for the tip, I put it back to high right after I checked to see if it would still give me the pop up.

But you answered a question for me that I've had for a while. I was curious how real the "hacker" threat was in terms of macro security. I think you just answered my question

Sounds like you got hacked pretty bad?
