I am trying this code to merge the contents of the column b and c, But it merges the column c with d. What could be the problem

I would urge you strongly not to merge cells. Bad practice, and very difficult for any subsequent analysis.

Ok How can combine the values of cell b and c and place the values in e

You don't need VBA to combine cell values. Use this formula:

=A1&B1
