IsNumber function in VBA

I looked for a IsDigit function in VBA Help but found nothing. There's a worksheet function called ISNUMBER but when I tried using it in my code I got a compile error.

what is this function called? Why was it so hard for me to find? is there also an IsTExt or Isalpha function?
