    Protecting the Macro Editor

    Hi,

I have a very complictated file with a bunch of stuff protected and macros that unpotect to run. The poblem is that if someone is savy enough in excel they can figure out what the protection password is by looking into the vba macro editor. Is there a way to protect this so they can't bring up the editor?

    Thanks

You can protect the VBA project by opening the Tools menu in the Editor. Then VBA Project properties. Then add a pssword & check the Lock Project for viewing box. Closew & save Excel.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

If there savy enough they can bypass any of excels security easy
    otherwise
In the vba editor right click on the project name in the project window and choose ' vba project properties' this should bring up a menu, choose protection. select the lock for viewing and enter your password twice.

This will protect the project by colapsing it and requirng the password to view any macros but they will still be able to open the vba editor

    Hi

They will not be able to view the macros, but might be able to run them
