help with vba to search multiple rows for matching dates and create a list

I am new to macros and vba and have been trying to piece together a search program for a spreadsheet for my company from different examples in the forum.
As nothing I tried worked I went back to basics and tried using basic code I used to use when I was younger but that also didn't work.

    Please see the attached file

I need to search along the row highlighted in green on the sheet "holdata" (plus the length of the holiday in the row highlighted in blue) to find a matching date to the 5 weekdays on sheet"holidays". I then want to copy the name of the person , highlighted in red to form a list under the correct days.
I understand that the code I have written is no way near correct. If anyone can help me with the correct code, of find a way of accomplishing what I need to do with a vlookup formula I would be most grateful.
