drop list populating cell

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a drop list and once a selection has been made on the drop list, the sub categories will appear in the next cells. Someone on the forum has already helped me on this using IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP. The question here is, how do I input numberical data on the right side (to find out how many hours I have input for each week) *Note, I want it to display it on the example worksheet? Please see attachment

It would be easier if you showed us an example of your goal.

Currently all blank and what happens when someone selects a different category ?? Will the numbers for sports be deleted and user enter new figures for say Music.

OK Sorry about that. I have included what my end goal is in the file.

When smeone selects a different category, then the data will change according to what the selection may be. Example: If you change the selection to music, the data in the sports selection will be saved and the data for music will appear. If you change some number on the music selection, it will automatically save the newest ones so that when you switch back to sports and then to music, the updated number will still be visible.
