Soccer Results in date format

I have recorded a macro that imports soccer results from an internet site onto my worksheet. However results such as 2-1 are inputted as 02-Jan. I have tried formatting all cells on the worksheet as "text" after the results have been imported, however the result then shows as 39084. Can I write a command to solve this problem?

Sadly it makes no difference.

Any other ideas would be much appreciated.
