Macro Trouble on T tests. 1600 test to do.

    Hello all.

I have a number of T tsets to do on gene data.

i have tried to record a macro for the t test calculation, however the macro recording does not seem to like the data analysis - T test function. and it seems to always select the data used in the previous t test.

is there a way to automate T tests. i have about 1600 of them to do.

    as an option 2:
I was thinking if i knew all the calculations a t test did to come to its outcome then i could write an excel formula that did them all and just cut and paste the formula to each data set, but i have not looked into that yet, because a t test seems a little complicated...

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

Is there any way to easily identify the array ranges, where they start / end. And where do you want the output of the tests to go?

Perhaps a small sample file showing your structure, ranges, output etc to give us something to work on.

    Sample

THis is basically what i am trying to do.

the data is aranged with the samples in columns and a place for the t test tot he right on the same sheet.
The one i have done here shows range a and be and the t test next to it.

    Hope that helps.

It doesnt have to look like this though. this is just how i was aranging all the comparisions when i did it manually.

    Any help would be fantastic.

    Hi

For argument sake, say the arrays you have in your picture are in the range A2:A6 and B2:B8.

Where would your next pair of arrays be? What can be used to identify the start / end positions of the arrays?

Can you zip up a small excel spreadsheet that shows the representative structure.

    hi, thanks for your interest.

i think i need to set up one of the sheets to show where the combinations will be.

really the only thing governing the spacing of the data is the space required to produce the t test. so if it was easier i could run 2 columns say B and C and leave say 20 rows between each series of data and place the t test to the right,

so series one would start in cells B1 and C1

then the second series could start at B20 and C20. third set in B40 and C 40

I think the most rows of data i have for each one is about 15.

if this helps thanks, otherwise i can upload an example of how i have set it up.

    Hi

    See how this goes.

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Data starts in B1, then increments by 20 rows (B21,B41...)
