you are having a blank between the main data and the row giving grand total
in that case if you highlight any cell in column B and sort (with no header) sorting will be ok

problem will arise only if there is no such blank row

    If I understand you correctly,

You can sort the fisrt 11 rows of your presentation, but not the last row, by using the autosort feature.

    1. Select only the cells you wish to sort, plus one row of cell above them (B:1 - A:11 in your sample file)
    2. Press Cntrl+Shift+L or select "filter" from the "sort and filter" menu.
    3. Use the drop down boxes at the top of each column to filter your data. The Grand total row will remain at the bottom.

    Hope that helps!
