    Smile Filter List

Hello. Please see the attached Xls file.

    I have 3 worksheets:

    (a) Raw_Data - source data that I input

    (b) Selection - Here, user select the filter criteria by indicating '1'

    (c) Output - where the filter will find the correct data from Raw_Data and output to.

Could any kind soul please help me? My headmaster is asking me to get this done by the end of this week and I have no clue on how to even start. Thank you so much for your kind assistance.

Do you mean the user places a 1 next to the filter criteria? If so why is 8 & 9 indicated?

    The explanation ...

The user puts 1 on the items that he wants to choose (ideally, one could choose via a drag down list with multiple select enabled).

There are 3 fields that are found in the data base, namely "SUBJECT", "YEAR" (of students) and "COUNTRY".

So, based on the xls file, what the user have selected is to look for students from Greece who are attending Year 8 or Year 9 whose best subject is Economics.

    Hope this clarifies the problem.

have you tried anything, maybe using the Macro Recorder?

    http://www.excel-it.com/record_macro.htm

if you switch the Recorder on a perform the Filter you will get some basic code which can be tidied up.
