Macro to save inputs and link to a dynamic drop down list

I have a file where a user can select from a drop down list and then enter metrics for that department. Then when the user selects a different department from the list, the metrics to the right would auto populate based on what was last input for that department. For example, if a user has "Department 1" selected, they could input 20 into metric 1. Then a user would select "Department 2" and enter 100. Then the user could go back to "Department 1" and the 20 would show. Does that make sense?
