    Array and count

    Hi,
Need advise on this simple thing.
I have a table of numbers and 4 numbers to search ABCD.
I will like to find through the table for ABCD in any orders, BACD, CDAB etc and count the number of occurrences.

    Thanks!

If your table is in A1:A5 and the number combination to search is in B1, then try this formula:

    =SUMPRODUCT(--ISNUMBER(SEARCH(LEFT(B1),A1:A5)),--ISNUMBER(SEARCH(MID(B1,2,1),A1:A5)),--ISNUMBER(SEARCH(MID(B1,3,1),A1:A5)),--ISNUMBER(SEARCH(RIGHT(B1),A1:A5)))

    adjust ranges to suit.

    Edit: Fixed formula
