Named Range referring to Old Workbook

    Say i make a workbook called "Version1" and assign cell(1,1) a name say "Cell1". in sheet1.

Now after doing some work i decide to save the workbook as "Version2" in case something goes wrong. Now something goes wrong in sheet 2 so i simply go back to version1 and i copy sheet2 into version2. Now my problem is that any cells in sheet 2 which reference the named range "Cell1" are calling up version1 instead of version2.

Can this be changed to reference named ranges in the current workbook instead of the workbook form which the sheet was copied?
    Thanks

    Hi,

not 100% sure, but after closing Version 1, look in Insert Names, Define at the names and the places that are referenced. If these are correct, then, on the Sheet2 in question,
    CTRL ~
to show formula, and if named ranges are looking for Version1 then replaceAll "Version1" with nothing.

Let me know how you go.

    Thank u for the help.

I did not know about the ctrl ~ feature so thanks for that. When i use it though, the cell still just shows the named range, it does not show what version it is referencing.

The insert->names->define does show what version it is referencing so i was able to change the name of the workbook in there.

    Thanks for the help.
