    Question Excel Problem

    can someone help with the following:

    =If(B=Long(And((D4-E4)*10000)<0),then,((D4-E4)*10000*(-1))

    George, try this..

    =IF(AND(B1="Long",(D4-E4)*10000<0),(D4-E4)*-10000,"")

    This is making a few assumptions, not being able to see your data.

    1. I changed B to B1. If your data is in B2, B8 or B_, change that part.
    2. I assumed "Long" was a value in column B, and not a reference to a type of variable.
    3. The final argument in my formula, "", assumes that you don't want anything to appear if the conditions aren't met.

    The IF statement is setup as: =IF(criteria, result if true, result if false)
